This rad :O. Really liked the beat. I actually loved it :D. I liked how you used arabic instruments to set a mood. A problem with this track is first of all that this is either for twerking or from someone to rap over. Either you gottasee someone twerking to it, or you need someone to rap over it. It's basically just a backing track/instrumental. Thus I got bored halfway through :/. The melody never changes. You did a nice job covering up that fact b varying the beat in an excellent way, but it just wasn't enough for me.
Another thing is that I felt like the instruments didn't mix so well with the drums and percussion.
The percussion sound pretty other wordly, while the percussions sounds very flat if you know what I mean. The sounds are great, but they didn't sound that well together. I would have added some reverb on the percussion as well. Maybe not the bass drum, but at least the snaps and snares.

Another thing I have to mention is that I feel like I've already hear the melody. It's a pretty normal melody in Indian music I think. Even think I heard that melody in the alladin disney movies, though I can't really prove it so I won't base my rating on that.

Basically, I thought the track was good, but it isn't anything special by it's own. It really is more of a Hip-Hop instrumental. It might just all be because of my own preferences, but I'm afraid I persoanlly can't count this as a completed track :/. Sorry if I'm beeing a little bit harsh, but I just feel like Abort and Soar part 2 was much better than this. I was hoping you would go for something like that throughout the competition.
3 Stars.

Hey! Thanks a ton for the review, it's really helpful. I can agree with you on the fact that the melody is a tad bit too repetitive, but at the point I was at with the song, it was hard for me to think of any major change while still keeping the arabic-themed key that I was in. Obviously, it could've been done, but at the time, I was having some serious musical blockage. Other than that, I personally think the percussion blends well together. The melody itself wasn't taken from anything in particular, it was just designed to sound fairly stereotypical, which makes sense why you think you've heard it before.

All in all, thanks a ton for the review; I'll keep a lot of your pointers in mind for the next track... After all, this was my first attempt at this type of song!

Loved the Intro lead :D. As usual, I love your use of synths and the melodies you're going for and how you build a bright mood :D. Great work :D!

Thanks for the review :DD glad u like it :D

This has a lot of good ideas in it. Really liked the drop around 0:30 :). I liked your choice of synths and I luved the percussion :D.
The problem with it though is that it sounds like one huge drop. it's cool for 30 seconds, but then I kinda get sick of it and wanna hear a break. You used the same 3-4 synths throughout the song without switching them up much. A dubstep drop only sounds good if it comes together with a great break in my opnion. I'm afraid this didn't have any breaks at all.
Ofc, I know there exists dubstep like this without any proper breaks, but then they at least add a lot of backgrounds ambiance or vocals to keep up the interest.

That's why I'm afraid I can't give this more than 2.5. This has a lot of potential, but it needs to be excecuted better in my opinion. Just keep at it, and I'm sure you'll make awesome dubstep in not too long :).

Really nice and sweet tune this :). It had me caught from the beggining to the end. Really liked your choice of synths in this one. They fit together perfectly and really fits the theme of the song. I really liked how none of them seems to tire out my ears. They are really enjoyable to listen to, and I feel like I could listen to this for hours which make it really fit well to a video game.

I really liked the melodies as well. You did a good job of varying them up to keep up the interest. This didn't feel repetetive at all even though you had the same melody playing in the background the whole time. That's just what you want from a video game tune in my opinion :D.
The mixing was also very nicely done. I hear some minimal frequency clash near the beginning, but that's nothing to worry about.

Overall I really liked this track. It really is a brilliant video game tune, and could Imagine playing something like Terraria for hours while listening to this XD.
Great job :D. Keep it up ;).

Very thorough review, thanks a lot for your kind words and hope to impress you further with more works :).

Before I start reviewing this, I want to say that I HATE 75% of all metal tracks. I just feel like alot of them sound really muddy and are annoying to listen to. There are some exceptions like MetalJonus, but normally I hate them.
That said, I loved this... O_O. How come that I hate metal off newgrounds, but I seem to like quite a bit of the metal tracks on newgrounds.

This just totally blew my mind the moment it started. I just instantly knew that something awesome was coming. The intro riff was stunning. The guitar sounds really professional throughout the trAck, and the intro is no exception.
There are too many riffs in this for me to say what I think about every single one, but Let me just say that I don't think I heard a single bad riff :D.
The song is also really well aranged with a lot of hills and valleys that keeps the interest and makese wanna keep listening.
The deeper parts of the guitar sounded very good. Totally rocked my earbuds :D.

Halfway to this track it had me standing up on my chair and shaking my head. That means this was awesome. And it certainly is, was, and will always be awesome.
Great work :D.

What a review to be proud of <3 I suppose my riffing style is fairly unique in that I generally avoid following song patterns so it doesn't get repetitive. Clearly, it worked. I might have to re-use that again ;)

Thanks a lot matey! Hope to see you next year in the NGADM! :)

I have made some chillstep myself actually. This type of chillstep is actually completely different from what I make, but I love it :D. It's like a mix of jazz, chillstep and orchestra :D.
The way you divided the intro into three different part was amazing, and i loved the intro as well :D. Really loved the lounge feeling it gave with a little chillstep touch :D.
The piano part that came after the intro was really nice :D. It just felt so chill, and I loved the melodies. The sounding of the paino and flute is amazing and sounds very professional.
The dubstep part that came after the piano was rad :D. Really is my kind of drop. Especially when the square came in.
By the time the Funky shit came back I was already raving in my living room XD.
The outro was done almost perfectly though I wish you had faded the piano slowly out. I felt like it ended a bit too suddenly.

Overall I LOVED this :D. Seems like a lot of thought went into this track. Which I can always appreciate :). Thanks for making this awesome track :).

I can always appreciate a good guitar riff, and I love this one . I especially how you arranged the different riffs. Everythings sounds like one, long riff which is what you want to accomplish when writing rock :). You seem to have all the basics down for the guitar. The quality is a bit poor, but the poor quality actually make this track more personal. I think it has it's own charm because you can clearly hear that this was recorded live. While listening to it I actually felt like I could imagine you sitting on your bed with your guitar and your amp, playing this XD.

So basically, I loved the guitar, but the problem is that there is only a guitar. I really missed a bass and some drums in this. It would have been so unbelieveably epic with at least drums. I really hope you will make this into a full metal track in the future. Are you a part of a band?

Anyways, overall I really liked the riff, but it was lacking bass and drums. I felt like I only listened to the guitar part of a full rock song.
If you ever make this a full song, make sure to let me know ;).

Insomnimatic responds:

First off I would like to thank you very much for the review.

As a matter of fact, I was sitting on my bed recording this haha. The quality is an issue I need to somehow get around. I currently use my Rocksmith Guitar Cable and Mixcraft with some different VST's to achieve the sound.

I actually am at the moment learning bass but I just can not figure out a good bass line to go with this track. I also play drums but I don't have any drum microphones at the moment or a place to play (They are acoustic drums not electronic) so the drums I will have an issue with, saddly. I would love to add some really good drum tracks to this but at the moment I can not.

I am not currently part of a band but I have been in one band before. We disbanded for lack of others showing up for practice and we decided it would be for the best.

I plan on making this a full song and maybe even sing / scream for it but I'm not a very vocalized person haha. Very hard for me to hit notes but I can low and mid scream decently.

I make Dance and stuffz. EctiBot is a mix of Ecti, and Bot. Profile pic made by solwings.newgrounds.com :D!
